Armenian Political Scientist: “Armenia is Losing to Azarbaijan”

The process of Nagorno Karabakh conflict resolution should be considered legally on the basis of legal documents, said Armenian independent expert Ara Papyan. “Today Nagorno Karabakh problem is reaching the deadlock as the process is developing in the political dimension, in which we are losing to Azerbaijan and Turkey, while in the legal field, the process will base of legal norms, despite political factor is strong”, said Papyan (Armenian ambassador to Canada in 2001-2006) during a round table “Principle of Armenia’s complementarity in the context of new political conditions”.

Khazar Ibrahim: “Azerbaijan has Never Spoken of Occupation of the Lands of Other Countries but Stressed the Need to Restore its Own Territorial Integrity”

The points of the Helsinki final act of 1975, the Armenian Foreign Ministry likes to refer to, demonstrate the correctness of Azerbaijan’s position, said spokesman for Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Khazar Ibrahim at a traditional briefing in the Ministry.

As for reference to points 2, 4 and 8 of the Helsinki final act by the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Kh.Ibrahim noted that according to the second paragraph, no state can use force against other states. Armenia has already violated this principle, occupying 20% of Azerbaijani territory.

“By his words, Nalbandyan shows that Armenia is a country, which occupied a territory of another state, as the second paragraph states the inadmissibility of use of force by one country against the other. The most important is that Azerbaijan has never announced the plans to occupy the territory of the other country. Azerbaijan has always declared intentions to restore the integrity of its territory and this process will take place in the framework of Azerbaijani lands, said Ibrahim.

Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Believes OSCE Not Interested in Settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict

Vice-speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament believes that OSCE and other international organizations are not interested in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“While I was not taking part in the events organized by OSCE, I was hopeful that the visits of the co-chairmen to the region would yield results. As I became involved in this process I saw the attitude to this issue and I think that these visits are not of special importance and certain international circles want the conflict to continue further,” Bahar Muradova, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to OSCE Parliament Assembly and vice-speaker of the parliament said while commenting on the results of OSCE Minsk Group chairmen’s visit to the region in early July.
